There is a gold mine in Bosman's this summer, holy shit.

Defense: Giminez, De Vrij
Midfield: Can, Goretza
Attack: Sanchez, Ozil

Dude, there are so many great Bosman possibilities if we are willing to open up the wage structure :D We can literally solve every woe we have and spend nothing. Craziness

Any truth in barzagli being offered contract extension
I read that also the other day but I wouldn't do it. Don't know how true it is.

My CB for next year would be:

Chiellini, Caldara, Rugani, Gimenez or de Vrij and Höwedes if he stays healthy and does well.

We have been linked with de vrij for last couple of months but gimenez is more a rumour

Fantastic for our CB depth.

RB: Spinazzola, MDS
CB: Chiellini, Rugani, Benatia, Caldara, De Vrig, Howedes, Giminez
LB: Sandro, ?

Technically, only position in defense we need to spend money on is LB backup to Sandro.

Sell Licht & Asamoah.

He's finished, Lichtsteiner is too. We fucked up by letting Atalanta keep our future defenders for a year too many. This should've been the transition year but instead we're shuffling around with finished players at the back. Chiellini and Alex Sandro the exceptions (Rugani isn't ready)

Rugani is ready; he just doesn't have the faith of the coach. He needs to play, make mistakes, overcome disappointment. When Bonucci first joined us, he was shit, but he was given the confidence and backing of the coach.

Insisting on playing a slow and cumbersome Barza, who is just short of stepping out onto the field on crutches, and an epic waste of space in Benatia, over a young and talented defender is infuriating.

I rate Rugani, but Allegri doesn't think he should be anywhere near the starting XI hence not ready.

I'd rather play Rugani because he's going to grow whereas Barzagli is 50 years old but Rugani will probably cost us a similar amount of goals at Benatia due to raw inexperience so I guess Allegri is scared we'll piss away points with him. Problem is, we're pissing away points already.

Bonucci was given more chances because at the time, we were not even a top 10 team. We were struggling to make it out of the groups. Less defensive depth and so on.
This team is at a different level now and likewise the aspirations. So arguably Rugani will have a tougher transition as he can't afford to make more mistakes. In CL, I definitely would not put Rugani ahead of others. He still looks nervous, slow af and as Allegri pointed out , weak in 1v1 situations. He'll get his chances but he definitely can't be entrusted upon to do the job for now. We don't need to be biased about a player just because he's young.
