How often have you seen him?
I only seen handful of games, defenite promising qualites, not necessarily for a star but to be a quality midfielder (still 19), kind of rare physique and determination that can make him grow into a dynamic player. Remains to be seen if he can be good enough in the long run, but find it peculiar while the tide suddenly turned negative against him around here lol.

Why are you surprised though? It's always like that in 'tuz.
3-4 members mention a player, the rest without ever seeing him play jump the bandwagon and suddenly he is on everyone's wishlist.
It's the same with negativity, most hate Witsel because of Zach while probably have watched Benfica or Zenit play only once or twice.
Kessie went cold because someone here said 25mln is too much and we don't do bidding wars and the other reason are the new names popping here everyday.

Mandragora is the prime ex. of this. I bet nobody has seen him more than 3 times and some Youtube scouting yet almost everybody has him as the next big Italiano DM. Bentacur has been a regular for Boca since he was 17 years should be loaned to gain experience but Mandragora who only has a few Seria A games are deemed ready for Juve, because he had an impressive debut against us a few years ago.

Why not, if we can afford it and can compete, and rate the player, then pay the price. He is 2-3 years younger then Pjaca who we just bought for 26m, and he was playing in Croatian bum league and few appearances for NT. If we believe in the talent then we pay whats necessary. Not everything has to be a bargain, but about opportunities and knowing when to strike to get what you need.

I hear you, but to be fair to this forum its just Hydde and someone else random who at times who get overly excited over the unknown quality of a youngtster like Mandragora, its not a collective thing or a tend really for Mandragora, just momentary excitement out of ignorance of the player instead of real hype.

Yeah but why turn negative before even knowing the player, and how do you suddenly deem a player too much without again, even truly knowing what he can bring?
Its silly to read things like oh he is no Vidal who we got for 10m so he isnt worth it. Thats just foolish and you know it.

Yeah that was the key factor, Vidal wanted Bayern, but Rudi went all suck it Karl Heinz.

Sure, if Paratici/Beppe, & Co. see it that way, then why not. It's not my money. But if they don't, are we going to see the endless complaining on the forum on why we didn't take the Iturbe bait all over again?

I liked Witsel for Benfica, same with Matic.

I'm not turning negative, I simply don't feel like entering a bidding war with stupid money when we could end up buying two players for the price of one. It appears the club is probably thinking along the same lines. Again, it isn't my money and I'd like him but for the 25m+ money rumors it will turn me cold towards the player but certainly not negative. You make it sound like people are suddenly thinking he isn't a decent young player with potential. At this point, that's all he really is.
As far as Vidal...Vidal was leading the Bundesliga at the time in tackles, and other defensive stats so my point in bringing that to everyones attention is that there are shrewd deals out there to be made that can bring us great players so before we go all chips on the table for a kid in his breakout season maybe we should look at our options.
