You exaggerate a bit too much sometimes. :disagree:
Why? When was the last time Serie A signed a top player at the peak of his age? Lets not mention Higuain now when we obviously signed him after having Pogba's funds.

Name me like 5 'big name' transfers that Serie A had over the past 10 years. Old Ronaldinho? Or old Beckham? Tevez?

Serie A clubs at this point can only sign youth with big potential. Or old fading stars.

Forget the fact that we signed him with Pogba funds. We signed him for freaking €90M. Like €40M more than our biggest transfer ever. And what about Pjanić? He's obviously in his prime and a top player.

When we signed Buffon, Nedved and Thuram in 2001, it was also funded through big sales (Zidane and Inzaghi) so how is this present scenario any different to 2001 ?

All I'm trying to say is its not that far fetched to see us splash big money on Verratti if they think it's worth it. You saying we'll get him when he's only a fading star is underestimating Juve's financial capability and pulling power.

This is why I say Higuaín signing was an absolute statement signing. You would never imagine in your dreams that Juve would pay that much for one player especially of his age even if they had the funds

And it's not like we're talking about some German or Spanish player. We're talking about an Italian player whose dream is to play for Juventus literally.

Oh so last big names were in 2001. Fine, let's even give the egde to Higuain transfer.

Keep naming players, we have one at the moment. Pjanic is amazing imo but I doubt world classifies him as a WC player.

But go on, you can use other teams as well. I might have forgotten about other transfers.

But we aren't talking Serie A. We're talking Juventus. We're talking about an Italian player who would like to play in the league one day and possibly play for Juventus.

'Last big names in 2001'. No that wasn't my point. My point is to illustrate that even in the heydays, we signed big players through player sales so this mercato isn't any different to 2001 mercato in that respect.

I'd love to see Verratti here.

My point is that we're not able to sign players of high status. MAYBE if some huge sale happens like it did now with Pogba. But at this point we'd have only Dybala to sell which I doubt we're gonna do as I see him staying for many years. Other than that people should stop dreaming about star players cause we're not a club doing such moves IMO. Not just us but the whole leave. That 'I'd like to play in Italy' means nothing when EPL and La Liga clubs show up with over 100mln on the table and over 10mln for wages. So yeah I literally see in Italy only when he's 30+.

Yes. But we can't guarantee that Dybala will stay in the long term. We are a club that doesn't do such moves yes, but situations might ultimately force us to do such moves especially when Barca and Madrid are actively monitoring Dybala.

With Verratti, people only bring his name up because he's Italian otherwise it would've been deluded to think we can sign him. And I don't know why you put so much emphasis on the league. Players are dying to play for Bayern because they make semis every year and pay their players well. Now Juventus are getting there and with deep cl runs every yr to possibly winning it, it really isn't far-fetched to think top players wouldn't want to come here especially TOP ITALIAN players.

Obviously we are able to bring Verratti. We probably wouldn't be if he was not Italian and a Juventino but he is, which is our advantage. Him playing for P$G is a big obstacle because they sleep on money, however if peeps are saying that Serie A is holding Juventus down what PSG is supposed to say playing in Ligue 1?
Serie A is bound to rise again. Juventus is almost on par with Europe's richest clubs while there is a big possibility that new Chinese owners will make both Milan and Inter competitive again. I don't want to start another subject about Serie A as a league so I will just say that Calcio is way more attractive for any footballer than Ligue 1, which is our another advantage in bringing Verratti.
Nevertheless, Marco would need to clearly state to P$G that he wants to leave. Then we would need to collect money for an offer in the region of 70 million which should satisfy the French club. Unfortunately that means selling one of our assets but I can't point out anyone.

Darmian :tuttosport:

Would be great next year, young Italian RB behind Dani.
Verratti might come when he is like 28 and if we are still on top.

what's really the point of darmian now though? there's not enough room in the squad, maybe just now is the right time for the opportunity before another team buys him... does pjaca count as U21 in CL as well?

I could see darmian replacing both licht and evra for backups because he can play both sides and asamoah to be extra lwb backup as well in case... but not until they're both gone.
