It wasnt flukes at all, it was about how Conte was using him, he matured as a effective attacking box to box midfielder and was crucial in that role, but we got Pogba and Marchisio had to go to bench and reinvents himself in another way to compete again because we basically had the two most complete b2b Cms in the world at the time.

He's pure mediocrity. Simple as that.

But who knows? He might become the new Khedira if he's lucky enough :baus:
Cant get enough of them lucky players :baus:

Those were flukes. He returned to his usual ghost self after that season and got fuked by pogba until we discovered he was way better as regista. Your point?
he had a WC season in 11/12, a great/very good one in 12/13 then got benched by the 2 best btb mids in the game and when he returned to the starting XI in 14/15 was still quite clearly WC. Later was moved to DM permanently due to obvious reasons (Pirlo leaving)

My point? You said he never was WC as a btb. I show you 2 seasons where he was, try guessing what my point is

@Osman I could only watch first half of Nantes vs psg and gotta admit verratti was pretty poor. He was pressed well by Nantes midfielders and was close to being sent off, though his first booking I didn't get the reason. Missed the second half but probably a good thing as he was taken off midway apparently.

On a side note draxler has fitted in really well at psg, him and Lucas moura were giving Nantes a hard time.

He had one and a hald wonder season. In summary.

Now he evolved to another thing
One and a half? Did you just ignore that I mentioned 2 seasons, both of which are quite easy to check out? But you said he never was a WC btb mid, so even 1 and a half seasons are enough to prove you wrong

I didn't see the game (no games for me this weekend) but I'm not suprised if he has a poor half, can happen to anyone. He can be a bit erratic or inconsistent at times, especially this seasons PSG who are poor compared to before.

"Look, we can change the midfield. That I will tell you. We're changing it, ok? And I understand what you're saying, I hear it all the time. People call me and say "is the midfield really dead?" That's what they are asking me, it's unbelievable. The midfield is in big trouble, that I can tell you. But we are going to change it."

That was just right. A lot of people overdo it.

Juventus wants to sign Bentancur in January. Boca Juniors wants an additional €2-3M (total cost €10-12m) to sell him now. [Fabrizio Romano]
