Actually I can see us with a new coach and very few signings.
Midfield - If Pogba comes back we can handle what we have but its a risk UNLESS... Fagioli get chances and takes them.
Attack - We need someone on the left unless we play 3-5-2.
Defense - CB needed as Bonucci isnt what he used to be.
Still Defense - LB very needed since our LB isnt top level and its the case for years..
GK - We can definitely upgrade but its tough to find a good GK on the cheap.

We can do with 1 CB should everyone come back and only get injured like a normal club (3-5-2).
4-3-3 - I guess we can save a bit of money if we have cash problems but a LB is still needed and needed badly..
I still insist that a good motivator will make this team come alive.

you right scouting is a tool of managment. ultimatley managment must decide to use scouting knowledge properly.

ours gave away kulu for chump change and didn't sign kvara. but gave 15m a season to not even best mid at manutd pogba

If JJ want to become a team that's capable of reaching CL QF again their plans for Winter Mercato must include signing

1) a world-class GK
2) a world-class LB
3) a world-class RB
4) two world-class CMs
5) a world-class attacking player depending on formation

Rabiot worked out, but he was too expensive still. Ramsey would have been a better fit if he was healthy. Both would have been good gambles on 3M-4M net and if you had Sergej-Pjanic-Barella for example or something. Arthur was a terrible deal. But even then you have the constant overpaying. Even for our current players that were there before. Szczesny, Bonucci, AS, Rugani. Arguably the 2018 mercato you can attribute to him because who knows how much influence Marotta had after opposing the Ronaldo signing. You don't have to just look at the signings made and the excitement factor of each. A good manager would address the squad needs first before making flashy moves. No AS alternative for years, good midfielders only now, letting go of young studs or ignoring others that would have been perfect now for positions of need etc. He was good at looking at a player and saying this guy is good, even when some others might miss it, but he had no clue how to build a team
