- some of them were apparently talking about maybe going for Lukaku since he is not enjoying Chelsea so far and Agresti shut that down, repeated that the key word with this new management is sustainability. No huge wages, maybe exploring the tax law reductions for foreigners but nothing crazy there either. Says he wouldn't be surprised if they were forced to put a limit on net salaries for a few years to get everything back in order. - someone replied that Raiola said the same thing about Pogba at United and he still plays there 2 years later. Agresti said that Juventus does not have the economic power to demand 100m for De Ligt and if he leaves it will be for a 'much lower number'
- also pointed out that De Ligt has 2 more years after this season, not 100. Raiola and De Ligt want to move on this summer and prolonging that for some theoretical pride or insisting on a higher price just brings you to him leaving on free like Pogba and Donnarumma. I.E. - Someone asked about Icardi - Agresti said that it is not close at all, there have not been any fresh contacts and he was closer in the summer than he is now. Said it could get hot again, but for now nothing new on him
- someone mentioned Bremer as De Ligt replacement and getting Romagnoli for free. Agresti didn't say anything about them specifically but mentioned Milan who bought Maignan before Donnarumma left to make sure they have a replacement. He said if De Ligt is leaving you have to find his replacement in February with future planning. Have no idea if he referred to Bremer and Romagnoli in particular or just talked in general terms
Many will take the finances part negatively, but I am ok with it. We have the blueprint how to be successful again. This is not like pre 2010. We saw it with our comeback in 2011 and we saw it with Inter too. Smart planning, no huge expenditures, take advantage of local talent for cheap and build slowly.
