But it started with Ronaldo investment that led to Marotta dismissal
Started from Pogba sale and massive investment on Higuain. When Ronaldo told us that he would be willing to come, we thought we are RM or Barcelona as a global brand. We bought Ronaldo, we bought De Ligt, we bought Chiesa, we bought Locatelli etc. which all are great players, but they ain't near the full starting 11, neither even half of the squad. The problem with all the dynasties is the fact that they're trying respect the core and the club legends by extending their deals and giving them money instead of investing to the future and at some point, they're in the position of needing to get new 5-6 players in same window and it costs money. That is usually the time for rebuild, which we should be doing and fast. The problem with rebuilding the team and not winning a thing is usually too much for the players with big egos and certain price tag, so keeping them(i.e De Ligt or Chiesa) could become problematic if we didn't try to strenghten our squad, no matter what. Then in the end, it's total mess with the players around, who are making too much money for what we get in return.

That's what is happening.

A left winger. A target man. Trade Ramsey, Rabiot and a bag of balls for for someone like Kelvin Phillips, Tchoumani or even sodding Renato Sanches

Honestly, we might as well just bring back Rovella at this point, especially if Mckennie is out for a while. Build a midfield of Rovella - Locatelli - Mckennie for the future, especially since we won't be able to afford much else. Dumping Rabiot would be a huge signing to me.
We should play arthur more, allegri still stuck in his old ways of one playmaker deeplying like pjanic.
I loved how italy played with double playmaker veratti/locatelli with jorginho and barella as box2box grinta player
We should do the same with rovella/locatelli with arthur.

Zakaria and another offensive player who can play on the left is a must. Julian Alvarez, maybe even Martial, but there are red flags around him too. We can't be too picky though because we lack a lot of talent.

What to do seeing rabiot and bernadeschi play on the left side of midfield is more depressing

I rate the kid the little I seen of him, real good talent, think Man City will regret giving up on him soon.

He could be useful to Juve, type of profile we should be looking at, but also its super demanding and high pressure to play for Juve, especially in current mess, so its better we dont sign him in January. Let him develop and establish himself in Verona as full time starter.

From the problems that we are seeing, I don't see how Zakaria (Or Witsel) is going to fix them. We have a problem scoring goals, not packing it in defensively. Zakaria will just sit in front of the defense along with Locatelli, but offers little going forward. Obviously the midfield isn't that good but focusing on this signing above others doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, unless we just want to pack it in even more.

We need another creative force or goalscorer. I guess I would take Martial if he was offered for cheap.
