Its not about being close or not - Donnarumma was a free agent and we could have gotten him should we wanted to - before or even when PSG called him.
He is Italian which means a top team in Italy have an advantage against foreign top teams.
We made a mistake by not going for him. Even if it means we are stuck with Woj`s salary for a year - it is worth it!
He is a better GK + very young while Woj isnt
Worst case scenario you are stuck with Woj for another year which is equivalent to paying a small fee for a WC GK which is still worth it.
Woj is a good GK but I dont think he is a Juve level GK.
Despite him old age I felt Buffon organized our defense way better than Woj. You could feel the serenity with Buffon in goal but I cant say I feel the same with Woj...

Not a bad player at all. Might be a Dybala replacement for next season (considering Dybala doesnt renew and our board remains with their "solutions")
