Man and watch the rumors start saying that we never wanted snejider and that we were after taarabt the whole time
And how else would Marotta cover his incompetence?

As much as I am happy that the Sneijder deal fell apart I find it sad how pathetic Marotta is at closing deals. It's the same thing every transfer window, it's not funny anymore.

The having deals with players but not with the clubs is fuckin' annoying. Also, we don't even talk directly to the other clubs when we make some deals, we use intermediaries. Does Beppe speak English FFS?

How about playing Coman and Morata more rather than getting someone just for the sake of it..?
This in my opinion is the best possible solution. Not just buying to be said that you buy a player(crap).

Evra is back up why are we worried about replacing him? We still need to find a starting LB that is actually a LB :D

I don't understand why we're not going for players like Delofeu, Jese or Praet. You know, 20 year olds who show great promise and are bound to be greats in three or four years.

Is it even possible to get those kinds of players in January without overpaying?

I didn't necessarily mean now. It's just that we never seem to try and get them. Shaqiri will never be world class. Everyone knows that. Even Shaqiri. For a team like Bayern, he's an okay sub to have.

So why would we try to get him? What would he add?

Regardless if Shaqiri is good or not, losing him to Inter is pathetic enough. There are tons of other examples.
All one had to do to see how good he can be was watch the world cup. He can be brilliant. He can also be very mediocre at times, as evidenced by his play with Bayern, hence the very low price tag, but I take his Bayern play with a grain of salt, considering Pep doesn't seem inclined to use him. So he may turn out good, he may turn out average.

He's being sold for around 15m. We paid around that for Pereyra FFS. Shaqiri is twice the player Pereyra, and he's much more suited to providing versatility for this team. Aside from that, if we brought in Shaqiri while Pereyra is here, we'd have two players who can play winger in attack as a somewhat natural and familiar position. We'd be able to use wing-based formations if we wanted. Shaqiri can also play AM, as seen by his play for his national team. 15m. To pass up that deal, after buying Pereyra in the summer for the same price is ridiculous.

    Exactly.

I feel like many are pissed because Inter got him. But had we signed him those same people would rage.

I never liked him that much and I think he's overhyped. So I don't really missing out on him, that's for sure. What saddens me though is how we spend a lot on unnecessary signings but later complain how we don't have enough money.

    Let me guess,

    They dont have enough workrate
    They are not versatile
Most importantly they dont play in the highly tactical Serie A !

Shaqiri could turn out good. Watching him at the world cup showed that. Probably not world class, but good. He'd also give us a little more versatility, while also having the ability to score goals, and a bit of creativity.

We spent the same on Pereyra. Pereyra. Or at least we're planning on it. Why not decide to not take up the option to buy Pereyra and bring Shaqiri instead. Vast improvement, even if just as depth also, and the same price. No brainer to me.

You would rather have Pereyra than Shaqiri for depth in the AM, Winger department?
