Yeah and Pirlo, Barzagli etc were all 'finished' and long forgotten but look how that turned out

It may work out, it may not. Writing off a player who's THIRTY years old, and has done it all before it short sighted.

Firmino has impressed everyone on his first training for Brazil. A star in the making...

Marotta??

@zizinho
isn't cup-tied, get him in January (before his price goes even more up) :tuttosport:

exactly. Sneijder had a Ballon d'or season 4 years ago, its not like he forgot how to play in the meantime. still, i don't want him since he will probably ask for ridiculous wages and cant play in CL this season. if we are getting an AM in January, Firmino must be it. or Mata if United doesn't want him. but i really want be Firmino :donedeal:

No idea if we know Firmino exists but yeah he's seemingly a great prospect and he's at the point where another good season puts him on every bodies radar so if we do indeed know of him we should splash out.

Yeah because we all know how amazingly stacked our league is from top to bottom, only the absolute best thrive in this amazing league.
Still doesn't detract from petersmit's point. The Turkish League is fucking pathetic, even worse than the currently mediocre Serie A.

Tuttosport suggesting Gio out and Shakiri in for January
That would be faptacular.

Currently earns 3,2 million and 1 million bonusses. If he accepts a paycut then why not.

I'd rather sign kovacic.. If you want to frustrate inter merda supporters then that's the player to sign.. Sneijder is shite and can't even be decent in the Turkish league so he won't do jack shit in Italy..
When was the last time you watched him play for Gala Peter?

You are not worried with a midfield trio of Pogba, Pereyra and Marchisio? From Pirlo (world's best deeplying playmaker) and Vidal (world's best B2B) to the Pereyra and Marchisio.

In defense CB is the only place where we atleast have numbers. Barzagli is the only one retiring soon so we have the center covered but we'll need fullbacks on both sides.

Tevez is as old as llorente and both have one to two years left with us. The only proper striker (that is not at Tevez level yet) is Morata. Coman, Berardi, Gabbiadini are even more uncertain. We'll need another morata like purchase within the next two years.

Buffon will also need replacing.

Young promising CM (Pjanic level of promise not pereyra or marchisio level) + promising AM (if the formation change is permanent) + Promising Rb + Promising Lb.

I'd say raid Tottenham for Paulinho and Erikson on the cheap, try for Ozil and get some bloke like Darmian and look for another full back to cover the other side.
There aren't many deeplying playmakers like Pirlo anymore in todays game. So you probably go a different direction or choose one of those more offensive minded central mids that can play a good pass like Gündogan, Pjanic etc.
Though, if you did try for another one of those deeplying midfielders the names of Johannes Geis(Mainz) and Granit Xhaka(Gladbach) should be on top of your list.

A promising LB is something every team's searching for, cause there aren't many good ones out there. Ricardo Rodriguez would be one but he's on the list for every top team and plays for Wolfsburg, who have boatloads of money and would ask for a huge transfer fee.

As far as offensive midfielder goes, Roberto Firminho would be a great signing because he can either score or create chances and is still pretty young. Neither Erikson nor Ozil are realistic, given what they earn in England and with their teams being more buyers rather then sellers.

His point only has any weight behind it if he has actually been closely following Sneijder. As far as I know he's not been flopping in the league. Not to say he's been tearing it up of course I don't think he has. And i'm sure we'd get a hell of a lot more out of him with our players and our staff than Gala where the motivation starts and ends with the pay slip

Sneijder couldn't do $#@! a couple of years ago... Now he is even older...
the Inter team after Mou left was junk. Our midfield is one of the strongest in the world and would allow Wesley to flourish in the attack and set up Tevez and Llorente/Morata. He could be the creative piece we have been looking for who can break down world class defences. To say he is old is also not really a good arguement given he is just 30 years old. Pirlo was 32 when he joined us. Also players in the Central attack mid position like Wesley tend to last a lot longer than other positions... look at Totti, Zidane, Baggio.. they all were excellent in their 30's.

Sneijder is a great player, people just tend to forget what it was like when he was on a competitive team, which he has not been since the Champions League winning Inter side.

Allegri wants to go to a trident and there are not many players better suited to help us run that offense. If we got a winger it would not really suit Tevez as he would have to be shunted out wide to accommodate. But a central attacking mid would be perfect for our current team. In the future, post Tevez and Wesley we could convert the trident to one without a CAM with Coman, Morata and Berardi.

Buying Sneijder now at a low cost, to go with our current players would probably be smarter than dishing out 35 million on Mata or 25 million on Shaqiri.

Seeing people detract from him due to his age is nonsense btw

He's 30, his decline had and has nothing to do with age, so any ideas that he'll soon turn into a pile of ash because he's at a ripe old age of 30 are a bit off the mark

Give him a return to a league he clearly loved playing in, give him a spot in a 4-3-1-2 playing for the best club in the league and he may end up producing some great stuff for us.

Had a good World Cup too after a slow start.

He won't add much to the team. We have a more than adequate squad for the league, and what we need are additions that can help us progress in Europe. He may be able to help for a season or two but then we'll have to replace him. We have to look to talented youngsters who can become CL class players, and whose market value would quadruple
