i thought it still had some problems with it.Is it officially out ?
No, it's a public beta. It looks like they want to encourage the public to help them find the bugs.

I wonder how many service packs will be released for Vista.
No need for service packs. Now, when a major upgrade is needed, Windows Vista will lock down until you buy a new, patched copy.

    Windows Vista interesting stuff:

1- Yet another attempt to copy from other OS', this time knocking the doors of Linux.
2- WMP 11, yet more useless options, yet more slow, and absolutely unremovable from the system.
3- IE (I lost count what version), new in IE this time, tabbed browsing :cheesy: Note: Also unremovable.
4- WIndows Live Messenger (Nuff said!)

I downloaded it like a month ago, and wanted to run it on a virtual machine. The installation screens were very slow unresponsive, so I just decided against going through with it. Later I found out that the minimum requirment is 512 mb:S, and thats what I have on my box, so running it virtually wasn't really a good idea...I guess.

    Correct.

Vista rejected Vmware and rejected being installed onto my spanking new usb drive. That's it, my patience has run out. Hasta la vista.
