i just recently formatted my drive and installed a fresh copy of windows, all the drivers and programmes and i was so pleased as how smoothly everything goes for the first few weeks, without all the junk and useless data that was going around. then the windows update came...and it wanted to update and i, having nothing better to do, let him update.

and so i am here with service pack 2 installed. the whole system has slowed down by more than 30%!! does anyone have similar issuse? what's your experience with sp2? i'm so pissed i'm thinking of reformating again and disabling the windows update for good.

Hmm.. I never liked Service Pack 2 in the first place, and if it wasn't mandatory for many programs, I wouldnt've installed anyway..

I had no problems with it,
    it offers better compatibilty,
    some security settings are annoying,
    but u can close them,
did ur copy included windows media player 10?
