on this forum, when juve beat madrid everyone was hailing moggi then when we lose its all his fault. i dont know how rich is moggi, i know juve are owned by fiat and they are not in the best of shapes at the moment.

dont people realise that juve and most european clubs are in a period of financle dilemma. with the crappy attendences that juve get, the decrease in italian tv money (and in germany) and the wages we had to decrease to keep our club above water you all have to remember that juve maybe moggi cant afford to spend money we might not have. i dont want juve to spend money and hope we win the CL to make it back, too many clubs have done this and failed.

do you want juve to be like roma, lazio.......... i defiently don't.

when people write about buying players in the region like cassano, joaquin, and we had to sell half of the contact of miccoli just to buy zlatan, how are we going to afford them.

juve have got a great youth system and we might need to rely on it more, we cant fool ourselves we cannot spend as much as chelsea or madrid.

we can all question the players moggi get thats what a forum like this is partly about but i think if we had the money to spend and not risking our financle situation i believe moggi would use it to buy players.

I think the Moggi should be thanked for the fact that he is keeping a good financial state at Juve. Two years ago we were the only Italian team who was making a "+" netprofit. We managed to maintain that through years when we didn't win a single trophy.
I think Moggi has been doing very good in the past 10+ years. I don't want juve to spend alot and become another Lazio. Lazio have debt of 140m+ euros which they are now financing it for two decades I think.
BUT nevertheless, a fact will stay a fact, we do not have a deep squad as Milan do. I am not asking Moggi to pay like Milan because unfortunatly the Agnellis aren't going through the best of the times, BUT I am asking for a solution to this current situation.. I don't care if they find the solution in the youth team or elsewhere we have to find a solution. As a Club Director this is his Job. I trust him with it. They have to think more about the players they want to buy. They don't have to be Superstars, remember looking at our history we inveted and created stars.
Lets hope this summer transfer market is a success.

Moggi is great, one of the greatest...But still we can't deny he did couple of mistakes lets say, IMO, one of them was Enzo...

Enzo is not Juve material. He would have choked in that Liverpool game just like Blasi does in big games and Olivera does in most. He would just be another small-time player with a lot of hopes, but never live up to them. Good move by Moggi.

Miccoli? Good player, but IMO would never be superstar material. The future golden boys of Italian football are Gilardino and Cassana. Getting one of them will pay off big time in the future.

Moggi's biggest mistake IMO, was underestimating Nesta and not buying him from Lazio. He should have snatched Cannavaro right from Parma too. But hey, money doesn't grow on trees.

However, it must be noted that Moggi's lack of interest in offensive midfielders has hampered the past few seasons. This summer we need at least two quality offensive midfielders/playmakers to set up our very tasty array of strikers.

I think it is good that Moggi is looking on our finances because if you make debts as a football club it is nearly impossible to get rid of them again.

He has kept our finances in good shape, but...were we ever really in contention for the Champions League?

A lot of people on these forums have questioned whether we ever really had the squad to lift the trophy - if this is the case, then surely Moggi has to take some of the blame. Juventus should be serious challengers every single season, and have the squad to cope with injuries and poor form.

For the past 2 or 3 seasons we have needed creative players, the CL defeat to Milan really showed that...from the very first whistle, Juve's only chance was to play for the draw.

Moggi should have addressed this...and he still hasn't.

I hate the fact that he never seems to challenge for Brazilian (or indeed any nationality) creative players, he seems intent on proving that he can build a winning team based on solid, no frills, hard working players.

Look at Milan, they go out and spend a few million on Kaka, he'll be one of the best in the world (as he currently is) for the next 10 years - money well spent methinks.

Moggi answers Juve critics Sunday 17 April, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Director General Luciano Moggi has used Juve’s newfound Serie A leadership to hit back at those who suggested the club had miscalculated this campaign.

“We now have the opportunity to work with an advantage over Milan, but the Scudetto race is far from over,” warned the transfer guru after they went three points clear at the top.

The Bianconeri had been bitterly criticised in the Italian Press this week after their sluggish European exit at the hands of Liverpool, but came back to beat Lecce 5-2 this afternoon.

“After the Champions’ League elimination we went back to a performance like the one you all saw today. The players proved what a great side this is and how mentally strong they are to react to this setback.”

Moggi was one of the main club representatives blamed for their Champions’ League slip because of the lack of quality alternatives available to Fabio Capello.

“The Juventus bench is as full as it needs to be and that should be evident by the fact we’re clear at the top of the table despite having David Trezeguet and Pavel Nedved out for most of the campaign,” insisted Moggi.

“Stephen Appiah is one of our squad players, yet we are inundated with offers for his services from Italy and England. Now it’s fashionable for people to say you need at least two whole line-ups, but there are other clubs with three entire sides who have been left behind.”

Adrian Mutu has already been snapped up and there are strong reports that Shabani Nonda and Robert Kovac also have deals in the bag, but Moggi is keeping tight-lipped.

“Juve have some talented youth team players – such as Masiello – who are breaking through and will make their mark next year.”

i blame moggi because he reacts too slow,
we sould buy emo and canna last year,
everyone could see that davids left a great void to our team and montero and iuliano arent the defenders who will push juve to the top, we didnt have to waste an entire season, last year, to proove the obvius, also the need of a world class finisher is antique.
Well its not really moggi's fault, he isnt the one who decides the amonts we spend every year, but he can definitly influence the one who does

Agreed. It was pretty obvious from the start of the season we had a small squad with not much quality to choose from. That is only obvious when you have to call on players like Olivera or Appiah to get the job done against Liverpool in the CL. We always get by with the bare minimum, however we would have more trophies under our belt if we spent a bit more cash. Right now it's obvious we need more quality, and probably Moggi will settle for some obscure cheap players this summer, once again.

we simply have to remember that running a football club is a business and he cnt just go around splashing cash or the shareholders and the board wud have his ass. at the end of the day like it was said in earlier post the clubs finances are in decent shape. as much as i hate to admit football is just a business now and whether or not the club wins trophies is second to profit made by the club, so whether moggi likes it or not he has to work towards this goal and is not really allowed to splash the cash
