Whilst most people believe these days that 'soccer' is an american bastardised word for football... The name 'soccer' actually originated in England... When the modern game was first developed in england, we had two types of football... Rugby Football and association football... To seperate the 2, Rugby became known as 'rugger' and Association football became 'assoc' which gradually became the term 'soccer'. For a time the name 'soccer' was widely used around the globe

Gradually 'soccer' was phased out around the footballing world and 'association football' became jus plain football... When the game was introdued to Northern America, they took the now defunct term 'soccer' as to avoid confusion with their own 'American Football' .... Simple as that !

4 bases like baseball. No bat. Instead of a baseball, you use one of those rubbery red balls that are the same size as a calcio ( ) ball---much, much softer.

The "pitcher" rolls the ball toward home plate and you kick it. After that, same rules as baseball (all the defense positions are the same: catcher, 1st base, etc)

In arabic its called "Koora"...which simply means Ball.

We pretty much phazed out all other ball sports. Nothing really deserves watching or playing
