Carlos? The goal was hardly Carlos fault. Its obvious Brazil tried to get France offside and the blame is on the three guys in the middle.

I don't know if I agree with that, unless Parreira gave him specific instructions to mark an earthworm somewhere outside the penalty area. If you're not involved in the play, you've blown a marking assignment.

Look at all the other players that doesn't follow up. Five Brazilians push up, while three take their markings. Its either Parreira or the captains fault for not making sure everyone knew what to do, though Carlos certainly isn't the one to blame.

But Carlos is standing out in no man's land throughout the play. He may as well have been Pelé in a TV broadcaster's box, because that's how much value he added to his side on that play.

He really doesn't seem to have controll at all, no. But if everyone in Brazil had tried to make the offside trap work Henry would be offside (with Carlos standing there, or what the hell you call what he's doing).

All it takes is one person not with the program to make the offside trap backfire, that's for sure.

Though Roberto looked more like he was just too preoccupied catching his breath and didn't have his mind nor body in the game at that point.
