Kaita. Without a shadow of a doubt. Remove that guy from the Nigerian midfield, and they'd get slaughtered faster than you can yell "Indians!"

The other names are only being heard due to either their nationality, or current clubs. Kaita has been brilliant. You dont even know he's on the field, remove him and the difference becomes glaring.

Imo opinion it depends on the defition of defensive midfielder?? cos pirlo fills that position for milan

On purely defensive terms it is Mascherano for me...not seen enough of the nigerian dudes.

Essien...imo is more of a all round midfielder considering his frequent bursts forward.

Fabregas...a wonderfull talent and a potential regista like Guardiola..defensive playmaker.

Pedretti is pretty ace also.
