I'm thrilled Barzagli isn't overrated by everyone on this forum.
There are still a lot of them though.

Toni is a great player and one of the best CF's in the world. It is just too late for him to come here. If this was 3 years ago many people would be all for it if they knew what they know now
I would never want him, even if he was 20 years old now. And if he is one of the best in the world, then the standard of strikers is really low.

I voted NO only for Barzagli, Amelia, Almiron and Toni.
It isn't a strong and loud no to Toni, Almiron and Amelia but it's a NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO to Barzagli !!

i would not say that. he scored 30 goals in Serie A last year and can score in big games too.

he was a bit tired in the world cup and not in great form but did his job fantastically well.

the 3 best Center forwards around at the moment are Drogba, Eto (bad year with injuries) and Toni i think.
the 3 best half strikers would probably be Villa, Henry(out for the season) and Rooney

most coaches would agree Toni for the last 3 years has been really good

It´s not that he is a bad striker, it is his style that annoys the hell out of me. Slow, no technique, clumsy, weak shot, I could go on and on.....

I don´t even know how the hell he scored 30 goals. Imo it is only because of his strenth and height cause the man doesn´t have any skills. I haven´t seen such a retarded striker in the last decade. He´s really pathetic. :disagree:

    Crouch?

that is real harsh on Toni. he holds the all up magnificently, has a good shot, accurate headers, can dribble well for a big guy and he is not a slow as you are saying.

He was great last season and has been pretty good this one. He is also very good for Italy (not a great WC but still his striker ratio is good overall). did u see him in the friendies against the Netherlands and Germany before the WC? he is a good player.

and scoring goals is what matters.

all that stuff about being awkward, slow, no technique could apply to Trez. But he is still fantastic at scoring goals and is a great CF. He is one of our best players.
I think it would make more sence to Keep Trez than pay for Toni. Trez has done so much and is already integrated.

Next season Toni will be 31 and it is not worth buying him. But no need to down play his form and quality in the recent past :pint:

this season only 16, next season he can be happy if he scores 10

:faq1: Luca Toni, one of the 3 best attackers in the world, you can't be serious
i did not say that. I said one of the best three Center forwards in the world.

and ok .. he has 16 in serie A this season. and it is not over. is that aweful? how many does Adriano have or Trez have in Serie B?

but i am largly in agreement with you guys that we should not buy him. :agree:

I am a bit surprised so many people believe in huntelaar, I voted for him too but to think more people would say yes to him than to Gerrard was a surprise.

Gerrard would be great for us although a dream at the moment.

    I think we need Italians...
But most of all we need good players,

Toni is a good player and he is Italian.
Does that mean we should buy an Italian even if we can get a better player that is not Italian? I don´t understand your logic at all.

Good dribbling? Not slow? Good shot? WTF?

Who are you kidding? All he does is push the defenders with his giant body. His shots are often or too weak or inaccurate. Last season ALL the balls were going to him. He scored 30 goals, but he had at least 100 chances.

This season when Mutu joined him in attack he became more important and more deadly than Luca Toni which tells you all. Mutu is a better striker than Luca Toni. :pint:

I agree on this one. I wouldn´t take Huntelaar even over Trezeguet. Gerrad is maginficent, but a dream. He owns all these players from the list.

yeah Gerrard is a bit out of place on that list. He is a player who by himself could make us competitive again.

as for Toni I guess we agree to disagree on his quality but agree that Juve should not buy him
