Ok guys, I'm coaching Aston Villa atm and I need a cheap (1m or less) defender to partner Mellberg in the centre. I'm thinking Kompany, but how good is he and how much will he cost? I had agreed terms with de la Cuesta but he can't get a work permit, and neither can Benjamin Onwuachi who I was trying to loan. So a cheap defender and a good striker available for loan would be nice.

PS. It can't be Cerci or Simonetta or anyone like that because I didn't select the Italian league.

Stu, you can't get Kompany for 1m or less. Anderlecht won't sell him unless you offer them 10mil+. I'd say you should get McEveley or Alpay in defence. For the attack, hmm, try Palladino, he's not bad. Or try Pozzi.

when i got him once, even that he wasn't on a professional contract, i still had to pay about 500k to R. Sociedad.

for ur attack get Borriello from milan. for less than a million dont know any defenders. try loaning fresi

cheap defender....get McEveley, Potenza or Grillo

Yeah, I have only 4 games to play and I'm in a 4 point deficit against superior teams. Should be interesting.

Potenza isn't in my game and the transfer deadline has passed anyways so I'll try to get McEveley in January.

I pipped Man Utd and others to Mexes and he's been good next to Mellberg. I'm training him into a right back so that I have cover for two positions with one player, and he was great there for me with Juve. I've loaned Bellion so I shouldn't need a striker until next season. Oh, and I got Stewart Downing on loan as well.

So far I've played 7 Premiership games, winning four and losing the rest.

In the first game of the season I found myself 2-1 down at home to Man City with 20 mins to go but some good tactical moves saw us fight back to win 3-2 (Vassell's winner came in stoppage time).

These results followed: Villa 2-0 Wolves, Liverpool 2-0 Villa, Chelsea 1-0 Villa, Villa 0-6 Tottenham :down:, Southampton 1-3 Villa, Villa 1-0 Leicester.

I also won in the League Cup, 2-1 over QPR.

You always have to compensate teams when you steal their youngsters. £500k is OK for Estefania, I've had to pay up to £1.6m for some really promising youngsters in the past.

Snoop, wait until a national manager is fired, then apply. It helps if you are the same nationality. Managers only usually get fired if they fail to qualify for major tournaments or if they go out early in major tournaments.



Does anyone ever bother with Physio treatment? Demichelis had 7 months out in one year after he injured his groin twice. He's now out for 6 months at physiotherapy, so hopefully it will fix it. I normally do it for youngsters too, so they aren't hampered early in life. Even without Demichelis, I have won the Serie A in April This after fixing the horrendous mess Tardelli got Juve into. Knocked out of UEFA by Newcastle tho

When you create a new game and the add new manager screen comes up go to the Nations and Clubs thing on the left, go to the squad page of the country you want to manage, and in the bottom right hand corner you should see 'take control'.
