Not exactly. The officially recognized government has switched internationally to China some time ago. Taiwan, for example, does not have a seat on the UN. They want to have a UN seat, but talk about a political hot potato.

And the last time I visited China, I travelled with a co-worker who has a Taiwanese passport. Except the Chinese don't call it a "passport"... it translates more to "your papers for returning home".
