I'm actually from Italy originally... but this is offtopic. Del Piero fans will be mad happy if he scores those goals in the WC. If you're only a juve fan and don't care about Del Piero specifically then forget it...
Then it's already a different thing and I understand perfectly what you mean. I do care about Del Piero specifically, but I still don't get why I should cheer for Italy.

that wasnt the question
Well that's true too. But still I'd be a bit happier after the game if it was Del Piero who scored the hattrick. Not that I'd be unhappier if someone else did it, but still.

Del Piero scores a hatrick in the CL final or better yet - in a World Cup final

I think I'll cry out of joy like crazy. :smoke:

And why do you think we and all Del Piero fans care so much ? :D What is it about Del Piero that brings so many emotions and hopes among his fanatics ?
Actually, come to think of it, it would kind of spoil his image of fallen hero he has going on, wouldn't it? So I hope he doesn't.

I hope you're joking.
Let's just say we're both very well aware of the fact Del Piero will play a fantastic semi-final and will fvck up in the final. It's the way it always has been and it's the way it always will be. You have fallen heroes, like Del Piero, Rui Costa and Beckham. And you have winners like Zidane, Ronaldo and Ronaldinho.

Or are you suggesting it's coincidence Rui Costa managed a super goal against England, but missed his penalty moments after?

i m not losing any sleep over it either, and anybody that is should see somebody about it
Of course it has something to do with me growing up, but 10 years ago football seemed something mythical. Now a shred of that myth remains in the world cup and remains in names such as Juventus or Real Madrid, but most of it has disappeared.

What I do know is that if Del Piero scores a hattrick in the WC final, I'll be training like mad in this summer's pre-season. It would probably make me even more motivated to start playing football.

Why is it better to score in a World Cup final? I really don't give a damn if he scores for azzurri, but I'm jumping out of joy when he scores for Juve. What link do you have with Italy anyway, you're from Israel, not from Italy. Of course I wish him all the best with his national team, but why on earth should I prefer Italian national team so much when I've also got my own?

Oh,not this nationalist subject again.I also support Azzurri, andI am not Italian,am I betraying "my country"?I would cheer if DP scores a hattrick if that will make Italy win,But I won't cheer if Zlatan scores 5 goals for sweden (some people did that here) I won't cheer for Zalayetawhen he scores for Uruguay etc...

If you need that kind of motivation than chances are you'll never become a good football player.
