Completely agree with D'Alessandro to Portsmouth.
It's not really a 'great achievment' by a club of Real Madrid's stature to get Cassano when you think about it, even though they got him for a good price..

What Portsmouth pulled off is quite a coup!

Fowler, is competitive too,
Fiorentina deals with Kroldrup,Lobont werent half bad either...
Yeah, my vote goes to La Viola for picking up Lobont. He's quite good and they got him at a decent price. Kroldrup may or may not pann out, but Lobont is a sure shot.

in Serie a there were not that much of transfers maybe Di Mechele to Palermo was the best one.
This was my vote for Serie A too. Cassano was dead weight on the Roma bench this season. And Real Madrid's stockpile of forwards will probably keep him warming the pine half the time there as well -- I don't think he's going to make a big impact there.

He made the worst choice in the world to go to Wolfsburg IMO
How? I mean, Van der Vaart went to Hamburg, and he's doing quite well. D'alessandro could have done that well, but he didn't. Maybe he'll be good at Atletico, and we'll pick him up later...or not. Either way, we have better players than him on our team already.

he should have waited for other offers but he had to go straight to any club there was, im not saying hes gotten worse but he could have exceded his potential elsewhere

Personally I think he did well at Wolfsburg, he was a breath of fresh air and was their "go-to" guy whenever he played IMO.

Sure, but D'ale left because he could only do so much and Wolfsburg were not pregressing as fast as he was. I can't imagine that he's going to be any better off at Portsmouth.

I really don't understand why he would go to Portsmouth...I mean surely there would be some more progressive teams racing for his signature.. could have been a big hit in Serie A with his creativity.

Doubt it. German defenses were able to muscle him off the ball plenty of times. Italy would only be worse. He'll have a good time in England, especially because of his crossing ability.

Perhaps, however in England he could be outmuscled as well and fall victim to the quicker pace and hustle and bustle that isnt always conducive of productivity for South American playmakers.

He may not have the muscle to deal with English defenders, but he won't have to, because he's got the pace and mind to handle them. In Italy, he'd get closed down and pushed off. In England, he could at least move out to the wing and create into the centre.

D'Ale could easily float to the wing in Italy as well, or work around the perimeter of the box a la Totti and cut through the center with his speed. He also can move the ball around rather quickly so I could see him avoiding the prospect of being closed down.
