You're welcome :)
Law - my thing ;)
And I forgot to add one thing: in this way drug dealers have always such small amount of drugs with them.
True. That's a BIG down-side to the entire system...

The plus-side is that people don't have to pay the maffia outrageous prices for their drugs, thus tackling the income system of the organised crime. Also, you can apply for kick-off programmes at every coffee-shop where marihuana is sold in Holland. The government will fully pay for the programme if you end it succesfully - a great system imo!

I asked a belgian friend about how it works in Holland:

Marijuana is illegal.
You are allowed to wear five grammes but not more because then it is not for personal use. You have to buy in a coffeeshop. You have to smoke it or however you use it in the coffeeshop or at home. If you smoke on a public place you will be arrested. That doesn't happen very often though(that you get arrested) about as often as you get arrested for drinking alcohol in public places, which is about never.

Good that at least you can't smoke it in every public place, as you would wish.

Erik: really good idea about such kick-off programmes. We would need such thing as well.
btw: when we had a discission about drugs in Poland - such small amounts: legal or illegal - people who wanted decriminalisation of small doses of marihuana always gave as example Holland. That the fact, that you can buy it and smoke in the coffeeshop or at home - all this make drugs no such forbidden fruit and people aren't so willing to use it.
Others said that when you can by it to easily - you always try it, cause you have easy chance to get it.
So? What is the truth over there?

The forbidden fruit theory is definitely true, teenagers no longer see the smoking of marihuana as 'cool' but more as pathetic nowadays.

There's a society-wide sympathy for those poor addicts even!:D

Might I add to that: there's a common misperception of Marihuana.

Yes, it's addictive but not any more as, say, alcohol. Like there are thousands of people going to the pub every now and then to have a beer or a glass of wine, so too can you smoke a joint every now and then just to relax and not get addicted. People often think you are addicted after one joint, this is simply not true of course!

Yes they were :D Also a bit cautious in the beginning - the government expected a stampede towards these new coffeeshops but that didn't happen.

Sure not after one joint.
But I'm wondering, what if take them away this: now and then joint, what then? Will they feel that they need sth or they will take in normal way: no need.

It works exactly the same way as alcohol. Now, I'm sure you have a glass of wine or a cocktail every now and then so you KNOW already how it would go if you ever decided to smoke Marihuana ;)
