The only acceptable exception to the local club rule would be family ties.

If all someone's family have always supported a club, I won't criticise them for continuing that, regardless of where they live.

I feel you're being ignorant on the subject Red.

I do apologise if I've missed anyone, I only go off the one's who've been rather open about it. I'm guessing Pado has been to a fair few?

Not quite, Fred.

Boz supports Hearts and some of the Americans claim they would support DC Utd over Juve.

I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting.
I completely agree with you btw.

My local team in Libya plays in the second division, their games are not broadcasted on tv, and i only go to Libya in the summer when the league is stopped, so to be honest there is absolutely no way for me to watch them.

If however, a Libyan club played Arsenal, i'd support the Libyan club without any doubt. In fact if Arsenal were to win the CL and play in the club world cup, i'd support any Arab team that played against Arsenal.

Hey, fook you. The only reason I stopped watching Hajduk was because high school finished, not because they started sucking. They and our league always sucked. But in high school it was fun, no matter how shitty it was, it was always fun to argue and tease over it...now, no really cares anymore. I still watch the occasional game.

TBH, if tomorrow Hajduk meet Juventus in UEFA league, I can't say I would support Juve over them. Well, I can now, but should it really happen....I would definitely drive to Split and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r50WjfZGLNM&feature=related

Red is spot on. As usual.

I never ever watched the Libyan league over an extended period of time, so in that respect you're better than me. But imagine if you said the same thing about Juve? That you used to watch them in high school, but you stopped watching them now, because they're boring.

People would brand you a gloryhunter, would they not?

I'm just saying its ironic, and we all apply double standards when it comes to supporting clubs.

I'll concede that things are a bit different if you aren't from Europe or South America.
In the middle east, especially in North African countries, things work like in Europe, people support their local clubs over other clubs all the time.

That is a pretty ignorant statement to make. To be honest, i never made the effort to go to London to watch Arsenal, and i don't think i will unless i'm filthy rich. It costs way too much money, and one has other priorities in life.
