loaning when used properly could be useful but in other cases could be harmful.

In regards to marchisio, unless we disregarded almiron or Tiago then he wouldn't have any place in the team and he would've been wasted on the bench. Sure now its easy because both aren't performing but at decision time it was just easier to send him to Empoli.

In there for him and especially gio, they guaranteed both of them game time and they even played in Europe. Also the most important thing about that loan deal is that we giving those kids a less pressure environment to play in without those high expectations that we have in here.

Criscito's deal was just made without thinking about the team and only thinking about him. Its going to be good for him but we are struggling and just because we have ppl in management who can't plan doesn't make the whole idea wrong.

In an ideal world we all would like to keep the young players on the bench let them in slowly but especially with us and this season it would've been really hard.

Loaning out can be a good option. But niw we have lost Chiellini with a injury for 4a 6weeks i wish we never loaned out Criscito. With this board i don't think they gonna buy a new defender. So i think Gigi will have a lot of more work to do the few weeks.

When you have a surplus of potential starters, and alot of competition for the starting-11 then you might have to loan out a player or two that you wish to hang on to.

When we had the Thurams, Zambrottas, Zlatans, Vieiras etc. it was understandable that some reserves/primavera players got loaned out...and eventually (unfortunately in some cases) pushed out of Juventus FC.

There were players - mostly in Siena - such as Rey Volpato putting on great performances, who just didn't have a place in our team during 2005-2006. Even players with the talent of Miccoli were eventually phased out because Juve were creating a team that would be a serious candidate for the CL.

Right now, however, we're back to square one. By default, after Juve's promotion, their target is a top-4 finish, which seems quite likely as we've gone halfway thru the season.

The notable weakness we see now is in defense- this is obvious, and I'm sure we all agree on this. Injuries or not, the current Juventus defensive lineup isn't really the best around. It's thanks to our midfield strengths that keep the stability in the squad.

Chiellini, Birindelli, Zebina and sometimes Andrade are the only 80%-90% reliable defenders at this stage. Now Andrade is injured. Legro, Boumsong, Grygera are average if not below. Legro has stopped his goof-ups this year, but Boumsong and Grygera aren't that amazing- the Coppa Italia shows Juve's defensive weakness.

Loaning out Criscito was a mistake- he made a few errors early on in the season, but still showed some potential. After all, you have to go thru this to gain experience. What about Zambrotta's goof-up against Man United in 2002-2003 when we were trounced 3-1 in our own back yard? Shit happens, doesn't mean you have ship the player off.

If anything we need to loan-in or buy a player until Andrade gets back in to shape. Speaking of which, this is what's worrying me now- he was bought already slightly out-of-shape, I'm not sure he will recover to his full potential, actually.
