Your list is actually typical of a fair few many friends of mine at the minute. I've tried to get into that sort of music, you know the "cool" music but it doesn't really appeal to me. Keane's album is absolutely appaling imo, very reminiscent of Coldplay in terms of how depressing it is. Everything changes is a cracking song but the rest is garbage. Same goes for franz Ferdinand except for Take me out which is an awesome track.. rocked the fuck out of the brit awards as well.

Yeah, well none of the new stuff. The only good new stuff ive heard in ages is The Streets. I like John Lennon, the Doors etc, but from the slightly newer rock i like placebo, white stripes and those type of groups.
I used to love green day, but their new album is the biggest load of trash i have ever, EVER heard. They just jumped on the recent ' **** bush ' bandwagon. Its becoming trendy to be an activist now, and it doesnt help when you have bands like them.

Not to mention their music has gone considerably downhill. Listen to their first albums, such quality. I know bands have to evolve but they have evovled into such a cheap wannabe '**** politics' band, just because thats whats in at the moment. And im sick of hearing that their lyrics to their new song are amazing, they are without a doubt the corniest, most simplistic lyrics i have ever seen.

Snow patrol released a few good songs, apart from that its all rubbish. This is supposed to be rock for christs sakes. We need something new
