@swag Lisbon been nice first day.
But we are truly cursed with bookings so far lol, we booked 2 different apartments for Lisbon well in advance, for next week after festival, both canceled on us last minute a day apart, one flooding the other god knows why. Time to hunt for hotels (not as intimate as an apartment or house would been).
And today we need to get from Lisbon to portimao, both super early 2 trains and 1 bus we booked for portimao canceled suddenly.
Then we book 2 trains from Lisbon to faro then transit to portimao from there at noon time. Both of them also canceled. In total 5 collective traffic in same day canceled after we already paid.
Its like some higher power doesn't want us to get to the festival tommorrow lol
Now ask taxi driver and she said its a sudden strike today in collective traffic due to being first day of vacation. Ofcourse good timing
So instead of arrive early morning well before festival starts at 16.00 we will arrive at 23.00 and only catch last artist at best.
7 of us, would been 10 but 3 couldn't even leave Sweden and get here in time due to 2 separate cancelled flights for them.
Told them all we need to visit a local witch doctor to combat this hex

2 apartments cancelled lol but found a 3rd one plus reserved backup hotel. 30 artists lineup with 15 being personal favourites means have to be patient lol
But besides missing most of early day festival, I'm more blessed then my brother and 2 of his buddies. His flight cancelled twice, so they had to give up, cant physically get to the country in time. Besides insanely expensive festival ticket, they rented a villa that's non refundable. And unlike us who here for 10 days for general vacation, they were supposed to be weekend trip only for festival lol.

Part of the trouble could be the festival itself ... like much of the world, the travel industry hasn't hired enough staff back to keep the planes, trains, and hotels running to meet demand.
The cynic in me might wonder if someone plopped down a lot more cash to bump you guys from your Airbnb reservations, but it's pretty feasible to have places cancel due to a busted pipe and all. Tourists can be the f'ing worst. The two Airbnb's above my apartment have been mostly well behaved. But some bored apes there literally ripped the quiet metal door closer/stopper right off the wood in front. Freaking animals. I wouldn't be surprised if these guests took dumps on the sofa.
Ahhhh... July 1. Yeah, beware needing some services around payday cycles. Good time for strikes, though in general we're not nearly as bad as France or Italy.
Good luck, sir. Traveling sounds like it will be a pain in the a. But I'm hoping, and trusting, will be treated well by my compatriots here.
