opted for a beginner course to get the basics right from the beginning. Found that fingers are by far the bottleneck and I ran out of grip long before I ran out of muscle. Girls are also head and shoulders above regular gym thots. And you get to stalk them while pretending to watch their bouldering technique.

I’ve been bouldering for 15+ years and my fingers still limit me far more than muscular strength. It’s possible to build some pretty strong finger tendons starting out as an adult, but it’s a lot harder to do than if started as an adolescent/kid. The adaptation of tendons in adolescence is so fast. Often wish I had started 5-6 years earlier. Still, so much fun. Wait until you get outside on the real rock. Amazing.
