Indeed, NO ONE mentions any of the big citities as livable/exciting outside of London basically. And this guy hypes up Manchester as some beckon of excitement/culture lol, when its prolly most shit on city (by UK comedians I seen) after Liverpool, Hull, Newcastle etc.
i used that example only because of Nicholas, in england i was in London and some small cities when you drive from the bottom of the island toward London, England is perfect place to live in except right-traffic

Don't talk shit.

My opinions on Manchester are very varied, but it's a million times better than Liverpool, Hull or Newcastle. Infact, I'd rather live here than London.

I guess. Surely these players have other offers? I imagine alot of MLS teams would take them.... and most would choose America over Turkey.

.
On footballing terms Turkey is still more relevant then MLS, bit more competetive and less of dead end retirement place as MLS.

But main draw of turkish league, besides being better footballing nation then US and also reasonably rich (atleast in Istanbul) is the fact they compete in Europe, so these players get to play CL and EL and not be completely forgotten as you would be in MLS.

You might. But it's not as if Southern Europeans and South Americans talk well of Manchester.

Although, sadly, it has become more of a retirement home these last few years. I'd like stronger Turkish teams in Europe though.

They seem to have a weak generation of turkish players plus have had this schizo rule of amount of foreigners they allow to be starting at same time that kind of seemed to hamstrung them a little. Plus the obvious lack of real quality they can attract from overseas. Yeah kind of made it more of a retirement place more and more. But still would play there for the football more then US, even if the US is defenitely more interesting place to live if the choice was based on that. But as said, you are pretty much forgotten/become irrelevant if you play in MLS at a competetive period of your career. Like, I like him alot, but who is Giovinco in the football world right now? Nobody. While Turkey based players get to face the best in CL, and even kick out a big team or two, as fucking Sneijder did to us.

Due to the cultures being so different..... Vidal hated Germany but he's just gone back for example..... So are their opinions valid? Aguero loves it.... for example.

I wonder what will happen to Pirlo. Apparently he would still like to play for Italy.

Sure. But Rus can't understand why someone might want to go to Turkey. What I mean to say is I can. I can also understand why someone would want to live in the UK. It has good sides too.

Footballers do have choices though and if most people had choices, they wouldn't pick Turkey.
Plenty of footballers have picked Turkey. Not Serie A, La Liga or EPL stars, but the guys sitting on the bench in the EPL? They'd go to Turkey just as much as they'd go to Portugal or Scotland IMO.

That is ofcourse very key, culture. But not all, for example Swedish people are pretty much complete anglophiles, and there has been ALOT of players in past decades who have played in Italy and England, some both in their careers. You literally never hear any of them bring up the experience of day to day living in England/UK (Scottland for kung Henrik). While they certainly rave about the lifestyle to different degrees when they are based in Italy, Spain, or even France (only Kennet Andersson is south france, but mainly about Italy with most of them).

Not even London got hyped as much as as some picturesque little Toscan Village got hyped by some of these players and ex players.

Yeah day to day life in the UK isn't great, however if you have time on your hands and can spend time outside of the City, it's amazing with the right weather and you can get the quality of life.

Honestly, I've been to Milan and Turin in Italy, outside of footballing reasons, both of those Cities are incredibly boring and have little to offer, Turin is positively bland.

He will play in Azzurri still, no doubt about it. But that says more about the huge legend he is and even ore how extremely weak the current Italian generation is. It used to be back in the day even as a top playeryou lose your NT spot as soon as you get benched for few weeks to a month. Now you have complete scrubs who just need to start regurarly in their clubs to get a shot with the NT.

Most Australians believe life in the UK and Australia are very similar, outside of the weather of course.

I wasnt a big fan of Milano, havent been to Turin yet sadly. Was only in Milan for a day but I didnt like the vibe. Roma was much better, at least for me. The south is where its at.

Yeah and a part of me prefers that Mediterranean life. South of Italy. Roma is a nice mix I think.

I agree on both, in fact I been to Spain and Italy (not France yet, except in quick pass through), and I wouldnt exactly choose to live there, just vacation. But the culture, lifestyle, food, weather, vibe of it, is certainly more appealing then North Europe in general for a reason.
