it is not vindictive imo it is about not setting a bad precedence imo countries like portugal and ireland might just be where greece is soon enough
They've been there and unlike Greece they are working their way out.

“We have seen Portugal, Spain, Ireland, Latvia managing through a difficult period and the crisis, so it is possible to cope with such difficulties. Lithuania has also managed to cope with the crisis. And now we see a country, which wants to feast and have others give money for that feast,” Dalia Grybauskaitė told the LRT Radio before leaving to the euro area summit in Brussels.

Germany thinks of Greece as a banana republic that really has no business being in the EU in the first place, but is there just because of geographical reasons.
because it is a banana republic? :boh:

If you really want the Greeks to take action, just tell them you're gonna foreclose the country and auction Greece off to Turkey at a discount.

But at least it fit their economy :p
It also fit their stylish clothes. If you're wearing some skin-tight Ermenegildo Zegna suit, folding some slim bills in your pocket won't fare una brutta figura. But then fill those tight pockets with random Euro coins and the like, you look like you're covered in boils and other gruesome skin defects under the fabric.

That's the one thing I don't like about having to carry a wallet, cell phone and car keys.
