I'm also annoyed how our government is obsessed by EU and how they lick their ass every day even if they said we can't enter for the next 10 years. Even some people think it's our salvation but it's not, only big countries might benefit from it. Look what happened with Bulgaria and Romania.

I think this system (or better said no system) is gonna crash 'soon'. It's gonna start with US collapsing and after that everything will turn around. It's gonna be China and Russia taking the big seat. I wish Serbia were smarter and start making deals with the East and not West. It's where the future is. I think China and Russia are making some development bank which would work like IMF but with a brain. I think the potential on the East is massive.

Austerity will not last long. Germany is looking into a year of little og no growth at all. THe positive thing about Merkel is that she is pragmatic which will cause her to ease the strains on the financial policies of EU.

Have you read Piketty's Capital in the Twenty-First Century? It's absolute brilliant.

I'm not really sure abou that really. True, Merkel is not a burning ideologist, but as long as Germany can somehow profit, the course will stay the same, she's an extreme economic nationalist in that case.
Also, I do feel as if she's somewhat stigmatised against many things seeming to be socialist, understandable with her having grown up in the GDR, but still hardly helpful.

Reading it now actually, page 250 or so atm. It's really great so far, altough I believe his major economical insights are yet to come. But the whole historical context and sheer amount of data are extremely interesting and impressive on itself as well.

I don't know how to answer that I have no idea how you'd define that feeling lol. How does being European feel?

Judging from my perspective I'm not a huge fan of European mentality, I feel the edge going toward East by a mile. But that has nothing to do economy but more like with mentality and structure of mind. But then again, it's what I've created in my head, mostly after reading stuff. It's not like I've traveled around to have a bigger picture.

I haven't taught a single day, but I see how women react. I used to work at the mall, selling phones, when a customer brings there kid, I play around with the kid, make him/her laugh, I actually prioritize the kid over the parent the parent fucking loves it!! Fucker gets sold, then there are the people around who are watching.
One time this single mother brought 3 of her sons, they had a year difference, some shit like youngest was five, then the other 6 and the oldest 7. They were loud and were running into other stores and shit. I helped the mother by keeping the kids busy, let my co-worker sell to the mother. I ran around the kiosk with the kids, and the chicks around me were straight-up eye fucking me. They see one random tall negro that dont really fit the scene of this mall running around with three little blond boys

Austerity measures and keeping countries on their knees will always benefit the big fellas so there's no way it's gonna stop any time soon.

With globalization and privatization what we're seeing is nothing but exploitation of workforce. Many of our uni's are respected world-wide and we give quality work force without a doubt. It's in their interest to come here and open their business while giving lousy wages to us and grabbing profit for themselves while basically creating monopoly in the meantime.

Russia will have to face major economic problems once their fossil resources are used up. Also, I fear that the political stability in the country might develop rather negatively once Putin is simply too old to keep going.

China on the other hand I fully agree on. They need to sort out their domestic consumption as well if they wanna keep at least a similar rate of economic development (although a decline is inevitable), but they're steering in the right direction. Tbh, I can't really see a scenario where they don't take over, or at least equally challenge for the global hegenomy currently held by the US in the next ~30 years.

So how does it feel?

Russia will have to face major economic problems once their fossil resources are used up. Also, I fear that the political stability in the country might develop rather negatively once Putin is simply too old to keep going.

China on the other hand I fully agree on. They need to sort out their domestic consumption as well if they wanna keep at least a similar rate of economic development (although a decline is inevitable), but they're steering in the right direction. Tbh, I can't really see a scenario where they don't take over, or at least equally challenge for the global hegenomy currently held by the US in the next ~30 years.

Eh, not sure about that. I still believe the future system will be based on gold and when it comes to that Russia is closely fighting China for it. But not just that, their growth is massive and they are doing a hell of a job investing it to make the country better. I highly doubt anything will change even when Putin goes, since we all know it's gonna be Medvedev who takes his place and he's basically Putin v2.

Wherease small governments translate to corporate exploitation where a small percentage can reap the benefits. But sadly that's not even history, but the present.

But that's what we have today in the United States even with a MASSIVE government! Programs like the Troubled Asset Relief Program and Quantitative Easing only help the big corporations that you seem to hate. That's why my thesis is that big government acts as the Trojan horse for special interests. Yes, the income gap between the classes and consolidation of assets for the supposed 1% continues to occur even as government grows. That's a huge problem.

Don't really know about job security in that field, working in the field of economical science would be awesome, but jobs are rather rare from what I've seen.

Probably gonna try to get a second degree in chemistry, although I'm not sure if I can manage studiying both simultaniously, at least not if I wanna maintain a social life as well.

The idea behind EU was great. But the way it was executed and how it works now is simply wrong. It'd never work without unity of monetary policy. But even that was made so big country would benefit from it cause there's no way Germany would want austerity measures in their yard.

I agree with your post anyway. Pretty sad and pretty worrying how such huge problems are being ignored by majority of the people. Nothing is being done about it.. at least not here.

You're studying for yourself and for future. It'd end at some point and you'd have a social life.

I wouldn't say that the size of a governments directly correalates with the degree of corruption. Bigger governments doesn't mean leass of course, but neither does a smaller one, speaking in relative terms of course.

Having a big government alone doesn't sovle anything by itself of course, what's at least as important is what it actually does. The US, from what I can gather, have a huge problems with the set-up of the tax-system, there's way too many loopholes and, like basically every other developed country in the world suffer from the incredible injustice of labour being taxed extremely high, and capital gains on financial investments too low or not at all. This just inevitably and naturally shifts money from the poor to the wealthy.

Other problems I have with the way the US government goes about ruling the country are the excessive amount of lobbying (not that that's unheard of in Europe, but at least it happens on a smaller scale here), and the problems with public education, significantly encouraging social and economic inequality, and healthcare.
