Should I avoid train at night? Seems to be a consensus about sketchy people on the trains out there at night time.

Depends on the train, but yeah I'd generally avoid it. Shit happens during the day too though. Coming home from the city one day the 5 I was on was delayed for about an hour due to a police investigation. And this was during rush hour .

There was actually a time where a friend of mine was taking the train in the morning/early afternoon and some guy stabbed someone else on the car in front of her and ran off the train. So basically, the subway is a good place to see some shit go down
