Thanks!

I'd rep you but I haven't repped anyone in a while and I gotta spread. =/

@Albertmare

Not quite, IMO.

Most of the time it has nothing to do with posts per se, but with people. You can't stop it from happening simply because it's 95% of people who are... different. Weirdness has taken over, even if posts are on-topic and not some random BS. I can't go like 'ha, I'm gonna ban him, I don't like his style'. Not to mention how annoying is to deal with dynamic ISP, etc.

Times change, I guess.
If you need objective criteria to be even something even close to trying to be "fair", unfortunately there are no rules that you can't be stupid or unfunny.

Dusan: He (Raz) is right though to a point, weirdness and stupidity takes over because you guys have zero deterrence for downright poor behaviour and spamming. It goes unchecked until it ruins any basic decent discussions, and the normal posters gets jaded by all the retarded spamming that's semi encouraged here. And it ends up with them themselves taking part in this to try to beat the mental midgets in their own game. The end result is what you call "weirdness", simply the product of unchecked and unmoderated inviroment.

I get preferring relax way of running things ("boys will be boys" style basically) , but the brief bans for raking up pts is the only thing that happens here moderating wise, and it's so pointless in the end. Much more useful to simply nibb it in the butt before it escalates, by being present as a mod and edit/delete or publicly warn before the transgressions and negative behaviour becomes the norm in a topic (pretty much never see this happening) , or in the whole forum itself as it is now.

In my own experience, it pretty much become pointless for me to try to engage in serious discussions around here, when I realized I too was becoming bit negative and somewhat more hostile in my posts after a while. Much easier to just read and make casual posts instead, engaging in real basic discussions is just not worth the effort around here anymore as it used to be not so long ago.

Well there are "people" like rus who are just retarded and then here are this whole mood that retardenes he brings is somehow funny and should have a place here. Ban rus, a lot of problems go away, at least the nonsense he speaks will not be celebrated. Because this thing has sprung out of control. Somehow it seems that the ability to go full retard is considered a value in this place.

Don't want this to sound like a campaigh against rus. I just used him as an eg.

A well rationed point, Osman. The mods may need to reach beyond the rules here and be a bit more Draconian to enforce things that don't comply with "soft" violations, like style, intentions, constructiveness, etc. That's a deep rabbit-hole. But could it be that much worse than a lot of what we have now with more of a laissez-faire attitude beyond direct rule violations?

The vibe of the place has gone spiraling down hill. It was so much more pleasant to read the place some time back, now almost every single thread is full of few people trying to make this place a kids playground full of teenage sarcastic bullies picking on anyone who makes a sound (in this case a symbol).

Interesting points, I haven't been around when this place was "better", but I've really never seen another forum where there is so much animosity between people who at the end of the day support the same club. I mean sure there are always going to be people who have opposite opinions from you, and plenty of people of the uneducated/less knowledgeable ilk, but a few of the insults I see thrown around here are some of the worst I've seen on the internet. Maybe I just notice it more cos I'm an outsider to begin with, although personally most people here have treated me well besides a couple exceptions.

Seems like a perfect environment for some forumopoli.

I swear i've seen same discussion about the forum year ago. It just comes back from time to time, 'forum is going downhill', 'too much this, too much that', 'teenagers these days...'.
