it's strange how the republicans pulled out of a signed pact saying both defense and health care should be cut.
The research im doing today about how the media handles military spending and it is just ludicrious what goes on. The US spend 660 billion a year on their military and the only cuts are about reducing the rate of growth, not reducing growth. In the uk we are spending 95 billion a year (we were second, maybe third now) and the anual growth its 2% above inflation - but all that gets reported on is military cuts...Its mad, fucking military industrial complex.

holy shit. your choice of studies sounds really exciting, i might do that when i finish my ma in history.
I get that a lot - Political Communications FTW!!!!! Cardiff has the leading teaching and research in media and journalism in the UK and one of the top in Europe - some people are snobs about the fact its a media dept, but the research they do here and the study we do is on really interesting and complex stuff.

ie. looking at how media institutions are used as conduits for government/military bullshit (alla manufacturing consent - Chomsky)

I have a BA Joint Honours in International Politics & Film studies and they accepted me. People on my course have come from loads of backgrounds, six/seven of them have studied history. Just so you know, tuition fee's for EU students is about £10 000 from next year.

So last night I dreamt that I met Lisandro Lopez (random) and I was talking to him while floating in the sky(even weirder). we were talking about football and stuff when all of a sudden he lost his ability to float and started falling, hitting the buildings below and bouncing 'till he got to the floor and died.

Then I was telling everyone that he was dead lol.

Happy mother's day. Very grateful mine's still alive and healthy.

Zambrotta used to be one of my faves at Juve.
Mine too. Before calciopoli, he was perhaps the player I respected most outside of Del Piero.

One of his great qualities was his utility: wingback, winger, left, right -- he always filled gaps where the team was sucking wind.

:sergio: I know all the lip service about the military-industrial complex. But I just don't get the defense spending love in light of the cost, the limited budget, and the lack of real need. You'd think we were stockpiling against invasion from Mars.
