He was 14 and has been in decline for the past three years, he developed vertigo last week and he hadn't eaten all week so my parents were left with the choice of him potentially starving himself to death over the bank holiday when they couldn't get him support, putting him in an ICU or letting him go peacefully. We all agreed on the later. Its sad, but i'm glad he has been a part of my life for so long.

Our family dog was in similar circumstances when we had to put him down. He was 17 and pretty much completely deaf. Probably could have lasted another year but it just didn't seem fair as their was no quality of life for him. I'm sure it would be the same in your little guys situation too, so I think you guys made the right choice.
