My bad bro.

I agree. Of the SU I've seen, I find very few to be funny. Mostly George Carlin and Ricky Gervais. They're brilliant!
Check out Tim Allen, Bob Saget, Whitney Cummings, Patrice O'Neal, LaVel Crawford (saw him live a shitton when I was in uni in NC), and Doug Stanhope (though he isn't always funny, most right).

I know this isn't the place, but religion seriously needs to be considered as a mental illness :Sergio:

This korean guy at my uni is a hardcore happy clappy christian and he keeps sharing status's from different bible pages etc. So i get to see the original comments that people are posting :sergio: :sergio: :sergio:
oh lord...a mental illness? really? so you're part of the small percentage of the population that does not have a mental illness and has found the key to life. I'd much rather live on a planet full of dumb people than a planet full of people like you.

Someone should put you out of your misery.

One of my best friends is a major skeptic society dude. He runs into issues all the time where people try to hijack the skeptic agenda with the athiest agenda. And yet as a skeptic, he's really more of an agnostic.

Which is why I've always considered athiests as much a religion as any other. It's a system -- when you get down to it -- that is still based on beliefs, not on empirical knowledge.

Noooooooooooo. It's a rejection of a belief due to the lack of empirical knowledge.

OK, gonna take a quick nap before heading to work. Goodnight, my American friends. And good morning my Australian ones.

No, that's a belief. Believing in non-existence without scientific proof is still a belief.

Disproving is a beast of a problem in any science. But it's a belief system, because it requires a step beyond proof.

But simply having a belief(even if it is the rejection of another belief) does not make it a religion. Humans love to "hang out" with like-minded people, which in turn leads to the formation of groups or communities. And atheism is just that. It's a group, not a religion.

Agreed, that's why I consider myself an agnostic, rather than an atheist.

God may or may not exist, I don't really care.

It's a religion. It has its apostles. It has its prosthyletizers. It has its advocates who vow that it is the one, true, correct way of life. It has its advocates that try to evangelize its beliefs on others in an attempt to save them. It believes in the superiority of its belief system to all others.

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck... It's a duck. Even if it's trying to profess that it is the opposite, outright rejection of ducks, it's a freaking duck.
