It's about the same age as my computer. It was low on battery so I plugged it in and it said that it needs to be restored. It happens from time to time, it's not a big deal if your music is backed up, but mine wasn't.
It shows as being empty of music. So I downloaded a program that gives me access to hidden files, now it's all a matter of drag and drop then restore.
