It was! Most of my bestest friends from forever were there. Plus, and I know this is the corniest thing ever, seeing my dad dance and having a ball almost brought tears to my eyes. He is not sick or anything but I know he won't be around forever.
Those are the kind of memories you should cherish the most.

I still feel bad about missing my father's wedding somewhere around 3 years ago. It was not my fault though, I was in bed nursing a broken femur but still felt pretty bummed. Now even more because I haven't seen him in 2 years or so.

Risa, my parents are really getting up there in years. They're slowing down -- taking more naps, becoming less mobile, not able to get on a plane like they used to. This past Christmas in Chicago I got to see them out for the Christening of twin grandchildren of one of my mom's best friends. They had a blast. Drank a bit more than they would normally do, knowing I would drive them home. Let loose a little more being around long-time comfortable friends. I can probably count on one hand the number of opportunities I'll ever get to witness that again. So it's awesome that you've recognized that already.

It's not corny at all.
That is really sweet Greg. And I hope you get to again soon. Sometimes we tend to take them for granted and before you know it they're gone.
