USA have had some solid coaching for eddie o Sullivan, they gave a good account of themselves bit really should have lost by a far greater margin. The commentators were saying the us team are failed American footballers which just boggles my mind given the nature of rugby.
American footballers or football footballers? I don't think there is a major transition from American football to rugby as far as the athletic requirements. Though the two sports do differ greatly in their individual complexities.

NFL like. I would say Jonah Lomu is better than any american football player in history as an athlete, by a big distance, no denying it's a taxing game though.
