I started from S01-E01 and have made it up to S02-E03 and you're right, the story just gets taller and crazier. Thats what turns me off about shows/movies in general. I like realism which is what The Wire embodied.

Yeah, but the last season of The Wire totally fell victim to tall story escalation as well.
