    People think that because I'm a pizza snob from Chicago, I only eat deep dish or stuffed pizza. Which are great. But the first 21 years of my life in Chicago I ate nothing but thin crust pizzas.

    People put up with a lot of slop when it comes to pizza quality, I've noticed. This is how junk chains like the California Pizza Kitchen can survive. Slap some cheese on some mediocre crust and some meat... done. It actually offends me that people can make a business out of selling lame pizzas when it's not exactly rocket science to get it right.

    I love it when he barges into my kitchen, wearing his leather helment and goggles, and spreads me on the kitchen counter to lather me with olive oil and pizza sauce like he played alongside Luca Toni at Bayern Munich.
