The Democrats are not serious about cutting spending. When have they ever been?

So it works both ways, guys.
I never said they're saints here. There are some tough cuts that need to be made.

What irks me are the wasted effort on nitpicking over dogmatic pet issues, not the stuff that really costs us money.

What do you think about halting military pay?

It's funny how it takes a lack of a paycheck to figure out you're being used.

Ladies, your husbands have been being used for fucking decades.

The gov't shutdown thing is weak. No military pay, really? What's next, mandatory unpaid service for everyone?
All the government employees don't get paid. From the Park Service to the Marines. But everyone gets back pay, so if the shut down only goes a few days it won't affect much. If it goes 20 days we could see soldiers losing houses.

You can't keep running massive deficits like we are and not expect to get hit hard elsewhere. There is no free lunch in economics. The Fed is already monetizing our own debt, buying our own Treasuries, which is pure Ponzi finance. So if the federal government wants to keep running these deficits the Fed will have to print more money and cause further detriment to the value of the dollar.

It's very simple. Either cut back on entitlements and wars or the market is going to inflict damage on us.
