Oh I partied last night alright. Nothing fancy. Just drinks with some close friends from school. Overall a good night and a memorable birthday. Though I literally can't remember some of the things I said last night.
The last sentence. It's better than not to remember anything at all though...

Alright. I'm off. See you folks later.
Later man.

Actually, what I found funny, Lapa, was the juxtaposition of the last two sentences.

B, that sucks.

I had to do that to about a third of my staff once. On 9/11, I was hopping on a United plane from SFO->Boston at 6:30am to fly to Cambridge, MA so I could lay off my entire team there in person. Meanwhile, nobody at the airport was forthcoming with any info on why none of the flights were taking off.

I ended up waiting out the few days afterwards where all flights were grounded and got on the next one I could get a few days later. Landed in Boston that following Sunday where the airport was like a taped-off crime scene and the cabbies were desperate for customers. And the next day I laid everybody off, and then flew home.

Ugh.
Okay your scenario was way worse, having to sit with that & playing out how you would deliver the message must have messed with your head. These days you honestly can't afford to rely on one source of income & that's why i'll be forging ahead with what we discussed. When i'm not all over the place, i'm gonna send you a pm on the details.

It did. But in a way, having to get on a plane right after 9/11 flying to Boston, where two of the planes left that hit the WTC, was a little bit of a freak-out. Everyone on the plane was on edge for someone to do something fishy from the seats, wondering if something bad was again going to happen since they had only just re-started air travel.

In a way, all that put the layoff stuff in perspective. In a strange, "Well, at least nobody's blown up" sort of way. :shifty:
