I'm finally back from my excursion in the snowy Yosemite wilds. It was like the movie The Shining up at the Ahwahnee. And coming back in that was nuts... had to put chains on the rented SUV's tires to get through the mountain snow. And when we finally got through the snow level after guessing at the various changing conditions of road closures, we had to dodge waterfalls, rockslides, and a 15-meter tree that fell across both lanes of the mountain highway pass just a few cars ahead of us. Had to wait for the CalTrans guy to chainsaw the thing at both ends and haul off the massive trunk until we could drive off again.
Man, that was some hairy driving in the mountains...
