I am not a metal fan, but I would assume you are right Jethro Tull isn't best heavy metal band.
I don't blame singers and producers for making horrible music, it's what alot of the people want and crave for. Lady Gaga might be wach and freak show, but millions around the globe love her for that. Music nowadays isn't about great lyrics that mean something, it's mostly about good beats, crabby lyrics, and you are considered a singer.
