I was watching one of the latest ESPN documentaries for 30 for 30 called The Two Escobars. It's quite well done and does a very good job of explaining the parallels between Pablo Escobar and the Mendellin drug cartel, Andres Escobar as captain of the Colombian national team, and the rise of narco-soccer.

If anything, seeing the stories of Pablo Escobar's popularity among the Colombian poor reminded me a lot of Hugo Chavez...
I saw that shit, it was amazing.
Hitting burke between the eyes with a throwing knife in RedDead like the spick he is.

    I'm gonna check that out.

Have you watched Oliver Stone's latest documentary? About a few South American presidents

I missed it when it aired on Tuesday night; tried finding it online but to no avail. Any idea when it will air again?

I suggest you do. It's a great flick about drugs, corruption, soccer, and people trying to also live honest lives.

No. I had heard he'd planned to do a film called Escobar, but not much has become of it. I wonder if he got distracted producing this film ... as he was supposedly last distracted doing W.

Meanwhile, I've heard great things about Sins of My Father.

Ohhh I remember when that guy got shot Greg. It was shocking.
Shocking? How? Because he seemed invincible after all the big officials he had killed and that he seemed like someone no government could touch?

I imagine it was. I wasn't following the details as closely in the U.S., but I certainly knew a lot about him around the early 90s.

Btw, rumor has it that a good chunk of Pablo Escobar's family fled Colombia after that and sought refuge in Venezuela to escape possible retributions from the psychos of PEPE and Cali.
