Andrew I'm guessing you're aware that Juventus is a football club from Italy so it's obvious you are gonna find a lot of Italy fans here (real and fake). So do you keep making these anti Italy comments just to be annoying? Or what am I missing? Come on andey.I love the Azzuri since usually a huge portion of the players are from Juventus. I don't overreact when they win or lose. Azzuri represent a country and I am not Italian Obviosly , since my country never qualified to the world cup, I always cheered for Italy since 1990. My passion to the Azzurri is about 10% of my passion and love to Juventus. In football Juventus all what matter to me, but there is no problem wishing my beloved Juventus players success in the world cup

I just wanted to know if you had a different argument than the "cheering for a country you weren't born in" one. I guess you don't. Keep in mind that the same situation happens with other countries that aren't Italy, so those fans must be "pathetic" too.

They're all around annoying and delusional fans. It would take too long to write up every single reason why I think they're pathetic.

I'll always be an Indian at heart. No matter what happens. Now lets say I immigrate to the US, only for the money if I may add, and get US citizenship. I don't feel American at heart at all, but I do have a passport. So,
Q1. If I were to support the US in a game of football would that make me a hypocrite?
Q2. If I were to support India in a game of football vs the US would that make me a traitor?

I don't think it would make you a traitor like Rossi because he was born and raised here. Since you'd be a new immigrant it would be difficult to say you should support the US. But then the question arises, justly or not, why can't you make money in India?

I do support India when I get the chance. Which is very rare and far between. Its almost like we don't have a football team. You should come to Kerala (my home state), the atmosphere you have during the football world cup is unreal. In a country obsessed with cricket, there are only 3 states which are genuinely interested in football. Kerala, Goa and West Bengal. I don't know much about the other states but in Kerala during world cups, the football crazy districts turn into different 'colonies' of sorts. Each one would support a country, Argentina, Brazil and Italy being the favorites. You have flags and posters of their favorite idols all around town. Large projectors showing matches live and hundreds of fans on the streets. And mostly the love for one team is passed on from father to son. But neither father nor the son knows anything about Italy or Brazil or Argentina. Nor do they dream to settle in these countries or play for their national teams. But you still see that passion in them.
Would each one of them support India if they had a chance. Definitely. But like I said the only time India ever plays at home is for the Nehru Cup. And if we are lucky we get to see them on tv for the SAFF cup. Very few and very far between.
I'd be cross if you called these people hypocrites or fanboys. They are fans, genuine fans.
You could call me a fanboy though. Because my love for the Azzurri didn't arise from the experiences I stated above as I was brought up in a different country. They are the first team I saw play football on tv. And I've supported them ever since.
