Drinking cappuccino, cold as heck. Winter storm chaos outside, closed off trains/roads, talking to my sister and a friend stuck in nearby city, cant get home. Watching Governing and opposition politicians talking about how to solve it, gotten so bad that the military is doing snow plowing.
Sounds like a wonderland. My type of place! :agree:

Better hit the slopes...

Watching Hardball for the first time in about a year. Chris was debating spending with Pat Buchannon and the Public face of the National Family Council. Chris and Pat agreed with Ron Paul's view that the US could save loads of money by getting rid of our foreign empire, getting rid of the dumb wars in the Mid East, and limiting military aid to foreign nations.

The National Family Council guy chimed in saying that the Family didn't currently have a policy on spending, but if he had to name an area to cut he would cut programs like Americorps. Both Pat and Chris laughed in his face (Amercorps has one of the smallest budgets) and thanked him for coming. Then they continued to Ron Paul's ownage of Palin and Romney at CPAC.

If it was up to me the US would have selective service.

I like Ron Paul a lot, but it scares me to see him getting support from some NeoCons. Hopefully if he does go so far as running for President in 2012 he won't succumb to the typical parasites in politics trying to push agendas. Looking at his record and listening to him speak, he does seem trustworthy at least. Just irks me that he would run as a Republican.

And you're for a draft?

Actually he's not really getting support from NeoCons and Palin conservatives. It's the moderates and intellectual conservatives that he's getting the backing from. CPAC was pretty much a dickhead festival (though Palin did not attend) aside from Ron so it isn't surprising he won the straw Poll. Guys like Pat Buchanon (creator of the Teaparty politics back in 1992 and 1996, though it differed considerably from Paul) are helping Paul's numbers within the party.

I am not for a draft but I am for selective service. What I mean by selective service is that after you graduate high school you would complete 1-2 years of civil service either through programs like Americorps, CityYear, TeachAmerica, etc or serve in either the National Guard, Coast Guard or other branch of the military.

    They are not synonymous.
