One of my uncle's law classmates, Kurt Haskell, was on the flight to Detroit that the Nigerian terrorist tried to destroy. He is claiming that not only did the supposed terrorist have help getting on board the plane, but also that the FBI tried to cover up the help and also the fact that another bomb was on the plane. Just more fishy stuff. He tried to get his story out on CNN but they didn't really want to hear it, supposedly.

20 years ago I stumbled across Asbury Park, NJ and saw what a smaller town looks like when the tide comes in, washes all the people away, and leaves a hulk of decaying playgrounds and industry. But to imagine those sort of industrial ghost town effects at the scale of Detroit is really one of the stories of the century.

I actually saw the houses just to the side of Gratiot as explained in the article.

At least a few of the great Detroit landmarks are still standing. The Art Deco Fisher Building and Theatre is quite a stunning building, especially the marble sculptured walls inside. I was there just last night to see Jersey Boys -- not the G. Rossi douchebag version either.
