Yeah, my older brother finally got the axe last week too. He's an actuary.
Seems like everyone knows more than just a couple people who have lost their job.

But hey, it's going to be a jobless recovery. That's right. While you're out of a job, the big banks will be raking in the profits and paying themselves big bonuses. The economy is strong.

You must have pulled the eyes out of your head.

I don't mind UT loosing this one, as it helps TCU.
I wish all of them would go the way of Dubai.

Like all days recently. Quite. As I got some good sleep, I haven't fallen asleep at my desk, yet.
Going to Mumbai tomorrow for the Great Juventuz Desi Meet :)

I love seeing markets all over the world implode. Hong Kong markets are down 5%, while our futures are down close to 3%. But the dollar is rising in value. Come on, bucky!

Just read about Dubai putting a halt on their debt payments. Lets see who'll want to invest there from now on. Serves them right.
I love it. Take a look at the thread in the politics section.

But I'm not so sure this Dubai story is the reason behind the markets across the globe getting raped..

Gold still has made quite a great run, and still might continue as long as the carry trade does not unwind. Folks should have gotten into gold long ago though, as in around 800, or even better, 500. Even at these levels, it's smart to have some gold in your portfolio, especially when Bendover Bernanke is trying to murder the dollar.

Remember, an ounce of gold could purchase a Roman's toga and the rest of his wear back in the day. Today, that same ounce can still purchase a man's suit for work. Something to think about. It's certainly not worthless paper.
