Just one. This was one of the easiest ever. She wasn't a fit and had to go.
Worse were earlier days like the dot-com bomb days when I would walk into the office of an acquisition across the Bay, say "hi", then summarily tell 15 mostly strangers that they're fired. That sucked big time.
Of course, my all-time best firing story involves 9/11, which I'll save for another post...

News that doesn't happen typically only makes the headlines when the media are using sensationalist tactics. But some of the best stories are of the things that were prevented... just that they lack the body count to grab the headlines.
